According to American Gaming Association, 9 in 10 Americans view gaming as a mainstream form of entertainment. Furthermore, the commercial gaming sector’s revenue from casino gaming, sports betting, and iGaming reached an all-time high in July as summer leisure returned to many states for the first time since the start of the global pandemic. This rise of cashless gaming and wagering has led to conversations around the safety and security of the practice.

As an industry leader, Pavilion Payments was named a founding member of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) International Gaming Institute’s Research Collaborative on Responsible and Cashless Gaming Solutions. As a founding member, Pavilion Payments will play an active role within the Collaborative to support the group’s goal of identifying and addressing the most prominent concerns and questions regarding cashless and responsible wagering.

“Having real-world data to analyze and understand player trends to promote responsible gaming and truly identify problem gaming behaviors is critically important to what we do at the UNLV International Gaming Institute,” said Alan Feldman, Distinguished Fellow, Responsible Gaming, IGI, Project Director. “We are thankful for business partners like Chris Justice and Pavilion Payments. They were one of the first companies to join our cashless gaming research collaborative, and they share our commitment to promoting responsible gaming across the industry.”

Inspired by the National Center for Responsible Gaming, the Collaborative’s objective is to provide a neutral, scientific, data-driven foundation for policymakers and regulators to make sound decisions in the future. The Collaborative’s research will be crucial in advancing the industry’s responsible game efforts.
