Toward the end of 2020, American Gaming Association (AGA) President and CEO Bill Miller outlined his confidence in the gaming industry’s recovery in the AGA’s annual State of the Industry address at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2020. Based on Miller’s remarks, we can expect payment modernization and legal sports betting to be critical factors driving the industry’s recovery.

Payments Modernization

Before the pandemic, contactless payment methods were considered an opportunity to meet consumers’ evolving preferences rather than a necessity. However, the global health crisis has fueled the need for safe, contactless payment methods as patrons return to the casino floor.

Pavilion Payments is helping our partners achieve their goal of keeping guests and staff safe with VIP Financial Center. The industry’s first full-service, end-to-end kiosk solution, VIP Financial Center, provides casino guests with convenient, self-service TITO redemption, bill breaking, e-check, ATM, and cash advances. The center’s slim profile design allows casino operators to strategically place multiple devices throughout the casino floor strategically, supporting social distancing guidelines and increasing convenience for guests.

Legal Sports Betting

In the AGA’s annual State of the Industry address, Miller also states that growing the legal sports betting market through responsible gaming measures will be vital to the industry’s recovery. Pavilion Payments partnered with UNLV International Gaming Institute, a leader in the gaming industry, as part of the research collaborative to advance responsible gaming and cashless solutions.

Through this partnership, Pavilion Payments supports the research collaboration by leveraging GPGS’ existing technology within VIP Financial Center to strengthen responsible gaming measures available to patrons. In addition, the high-performance kiosk employs the latest technology to provide enhanced responsible gaming measures, including configurable spending limits, preset “cooling off” periods, self-exclusion, and more.

These benefits also extend to players who prefer to fund their gaming on a mobile device through VIP Mobilitythe industry’s first mobile solution enabling an authentic cashless experience from funding through cash-out. VIP Mobility promotes responsible gaming while empowering patrons to enjoy the freedom of digital slot vouchers, easily pair their mobile devices to any slot or table game, reload funds from their phones, and claim their winnings once playing is complete.
